根據(jù)名稱不難發(fā)現(xiàn)，交直流電源串?dāng)_成因很大一部分原因，就是這種繼電保護(hù)是由交流電和直流電共同供電，因?yàn)樵诂F(xiàn)在的變電站，所用的電氣設(shè)備以及一些用電裝置都是需要二者共同供電的，這也是提高變電所供電可靠性和效率的最好方法。稍微懂一些電力方面知識的人就會知道，交流電的容量要比直流電小得多，并且直流電的可靠性要優(yōu)于交流電，因此一般的電力方面的公司都比較喜歡應(yīng)用直流電源，還有一方面就是因?yàn)橹绷麟娨菀拙S修。交流電和直流電的作用也是不一樣的，因?yàn)榻涣麟姷墓β适潜容^小的，所以多用于照明設(shè)備、打印機(jī)這樣簡單的設(shè)備中，所占用的空間不大，所起到的作用也不大，但卻必不可少。因此在繼電設(shè)備中必須要應(yīng)用兩者，因此當(dāng)進(jìn)行了一些不當(dāng)?shù)牟僮髦?，在交流回路和直流回路中的一些線圈等會有不良的反應(yīng)，會發(fā)生電壓升高的情況，進(jìn)而對其他的直流回路設(shè)備產(chǎn)生影響，進(jìn)而干擾到正確的操作，當(dāng)斷路器斷開時，如果發(fā)現(xiàn)所受到的電壓為為無限大，則可以斷定這個斷路器是理想的，振頻一般就是一千赫茲，雖然這種情況會僅僅發(fā)生在線圈上，又或者簡單的引線上，但是卻有可能發(fā)生更大的危險，那就是尖峰電壓會升高，變得超出承受范圍。另一方面，如果沒有應(yīng)用理想斷路器，那么所產(chǎn)生的危險就會更大：當(dāng)斷路器斷開時，所在的觸點(diǎn)位置會會產(chǎn)生電弧重燃現(xiàn)象，在這種情況下會產(chǎn)生過電壓，這種過電壓雖然是暫態(tài)的，但卻非常嚴(yán)重，因?yàn)樗鼤苯觽鬏數(shù)街绷鞑糠值哪妇€上，進(jìn)而使整個斷路設(shè)備癱瘓。上面所說的情況，當(dāng)斷路器斷開時，會產(chǎn)生暫態(tài)的過電壓，當(dāng)這個電壓超過了擊穿電壓時，重燃的電弧會導(dǎo)致電流發(fā)生變變化，變得時斷時續(xù)，而電容的充電也會發(fā)生影響，變得時斷時續(xù)，有時還會發(fā)生反向放電的情況，使得暫態(tài)過電壓的震蕩變得更加明顯，加劇了斷路器的穩(wěn)態(tài)的流失，整個控制系統(tǒng)進(jìn)入癱瘓狀態(tài)。
